Roof33 hosts a unique collection of contemporary artists united by a shared vision: transforming waste materials and natural elements into artworks that tell stories of rebirth and sustainability. Each artist, with their own technique and sensibility, contributes to creating an environment where art is not just observed, but lived and breathed.
From Scoobafish's marine plastic sculptures to Giuseppe La Corte's pictorial works, to Roberto Locatelli's iron sculptures, every piece at Roof33 is an invitation to reflect on the environment, the hidden beauty in forgotten objects, and the transformative power of contemporary art.

My name is Maurizio Sergiusti, professionally known as Scoobafish. I am a Plastic Artist and currently live and work in Sardinia.
My mother transmitted to me the love for art since I was small (she was a painter), while my father taught me meticulous precision (he was a watchmaker), and was also – no less important – the king of recycling. It is precisely this combination of art and passion for sculpture made with found objects that gives life to the works presented on these pages.
My work focuses on themes of ecology, waste and recycling, using refuse as a means to criticize the hyper-consumption of the modern world. A collection of discarded objects, various waste found on beaches or abandoned along roads, or simply what you find in a messy drawer. Random objects apparently without value. These are precisely the elements that enter my studio and begin a journey of transformation.
I never know what the final result will be. I simply follow what feels right instinctively, without censoring the absurdity that sometimes surfaces in my mind. Not a day passes when I'm not creating something, noting an idea or building a color palette. Every day is an exercise in experimental play that follows the creative urgency to express my personal vision of beauty.
I deeply believe in the recycling objective linked to my project, and my contribution to environmental sustainability consists of investing my creativity in the process of giving new life to used objects and apparently useless garbage, transforming them into artworks and thus giving waste a new purpose and existence.

My name is Giuseppe La Corte, I live in Palermo, Sicily, and my soul is indissolubly linked to the sea. Every wave that crashes on the coast, every shade of blue that blends with the horizon, every creature that inhabits the marine depths, are an inexhaustible source of inspiration. My art is not just a visual representation, but a deep immersion in the essence of the sea, a tribute to its strength, beauty and mysteries.
My works are a constant dialogue with the marine environment. When it comes to depicting underwater life, particularly fish, I adopt a unique practice that is deeply respectful of nature. My favorite technique is acrylic, a choice that allows me to capture the vivacity of colors with energetic and luminous brushstrokes, and my canvases are not conventional: I prefer supports that already carry within themselves a story, a lived experience.
Old recycled boards, ancient doors that have resisted time, or wooden planks eroded and smoothed by tides and weather, recovered directly from beaches, become the base for my creations. These materials, with their grain, the scars of time and the signs of the sea, give my works an unparalleled texture and depth, almost as if the painted fish emerged directly from the depths of the wood itself.
Through my paintings, I invite the viewer to reflect on the fragility and magnificence of the marine ecosystem, celebrating aquatic life and the intrinsic beauty of natural elements. My works are a hymn to the sea, an invitation to protect it and admire it in all its forms.

My name is Roberto Locatelli and for more than 25 years I have dedicated myself to creating artistic works in iron. The beginning of my journey in art was photography, a passion that lasted seven years, after finishing secondary school. I was born in July 1970 in the city of La Plata, Argentina, in a family of Italian origin. My mother was a nurse and my father was dedicated to buying and selling used agricultural machinery, so the ground of our house was full of scrap metal. It was there that my passion for revaluing old iron began, those disused pieces that for most people had no value, that were no longer useful, that were "dead", but which for me were pure beauty for their shapes and textures.
It was then that I began to recover forgotten and rusted pieces of iron, to recycle them, assemble them and give them life again in the form of sculptures. Thus was born the name "Life Death Life" that has always identified my work. Work that is based on the concept of transformation. Through reuse, I invite personal reflection on rebirth and return to life. I seek for the sculptures to be characterized by their expression and movement.
The creative process begins with pieces found in everyday moments of my life and it is from the form that the works arise. The use of waste materials for the realization of sculptures is linked to environmental care, to the need to manifest my intention to promote the valorization of recycling, waste reduction and ecological awareness. Currently I live and work in Sardinia, a magical and wonderful land, with a millenary culture and history that are my source of inspiration.
