Roof33 presents a curated selection of contemporary design brands that share our philosophy of sustainability and beauty. Each object is chosen for its ability to unite traditional craftsmanship and contemporary innovation, creating unique pieces that enrich the aesthetic experience of your stay.
Our partner brands privilege natural materials, traditional techniques and sustainable processes, giving life to functional art objects that tell the story of Sardinian territory and contemporary creativity. Every piece present at Roof33 is a bridge between past and future, between artisanal mastery and modern design.

Monica Sotgiu grew up in Siniscola, a small town on the North Eastern Coast of Sardinia, and graduated in Cagliari at the European Institute of Design which she considers "responsible" for having initiated her into graphics and love for art and creativity in general. Yet, the true place of origin of her creative impulse was her father Francesco's hardware store.
Her mirrors have an inexhaustible source of inspiration from the widest variety: Sardinia! It is Sardinia, in fact, that with its culture, traditions, craftsmanship, fragrances and peculiar colors has always represented a sort of natural stage for the expression of her creativity, managing to give her continuous ideas for new artisanal creations.
Hers is a continuous search for those particular references to tradition: materials found in the most diverse and hidden corners of the Island where it is still possible to find women who, strictly by hand, still embroider parts of the Sardinian costume with extreme attention. Moved, like those embroiderers, by the same sensitivity and passion for Sardinian traditions, to which she fully belongs, Monica uses for her works only materials of strictly Sardinian origin, such as the wool that wraps them and which is characterized by typical workmanship.
Every detail of the traditional Sardinian dress, for example, inspires her work. Wrapped in the frame of her mirrors, it is possible to find continuous references to the richness of gold, to the lace of shirts, to the subtle style of Sardinian embroidery. She loves to insert, among the weaves of fabrics, the most varied objects of particular shapes and colors, which serve as further reference to Sardinian traditions. She likes to revive the memory of leather and cowbells that, immersed in white wool, recall the life, works and traditions of the countryside and its protagonists.
Everything is composed in the brief circular space of the mirror whose simple and concluded form is a direct reference to the joyful pride and composed festivity of dancers ready to perform in one of the fascinating Sardinian dances.
